Amid a continued rise in prices of foodgrains, raw materials, consumer durables, electronics, automobiles, electricity and just about everything, raising children in metropolitan cities has become a costly affair, indeed. As per a study conducted by The Economic Times, the total expense of private schooling in India can go as high as Rs. 30 lakh, while that public schooling is estimated to range between Rs 15,000-20,000 per year. The findings further reveal that the total cost of college education in the country, which is projected to grow by 10% on an annual basis, may go up to a staggering Rs. 1 crore.
